Counseling
The Vincennes Pediatric Therapeutics counseling group promotes pro-social behaviors in a nurturing, structured setting. Our licensed social workers, specializing in childhood behavioral disorders, use the "Theraplay Group" model. The underlying message of the group is that the adult is in charge. The message to the children is: no hurts, have fun, and stick together. Activities will include cooperative circle-time, social skills activity with role plays and puppets, small group projects, and free play to allow children to practice conflict resolution skills. We will work with teachers and parents to promote follow-through and consistency at home and in the child's educational environment.
